Deuteronomy 15:11

Blessed is he that considereth the poor. The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes and to make them inherit the throne of glory,
for the pillars of the earth are the Lords, and He hath set the world upon them.    KJV

WHAT IS THE JESUS HOUSE?

Jesus House Odessa is a mens Transitional Home
in progress as we speak.

"Transitional" meaning not just  another shelter, but a place
where the men will be challenged to begin a new life.

They will receive biblical teaching,
receive counseling, and be required to seek employment.

Mandatory for all who stay are all church services,
a weekly 12 Step Addiction Recovery Program, at
least 2 job interviews per day, and setting up a savings
account to teach them how to be good stewards of the
things that God blesses them with.

WHAT DO THEY DO?
The gentlemen live through a self
paced program, "relearning life"
as they daily make decisions learning
that there are consequences for
their actions whether good or bad,
and learning exactly
how those decisions affect the
rest of their lives, while learning
how God made rules for our own
good because he loves us.

OCCUPANCY
The number of men we have at one time vary sometimes from day to day.  Some of them fight to continue and some give up before they get started. While they fight addictions and struggle with responsibility, we will continue to lead them to the best of our ability sometimes with tough love, demanding that they take responsibility for their acitons as well as befriending them as we help them to see their self worth, to be able to see themselves as God created them to be.
